Who's Behind This
Tip Calculator Fast is built and maintained by Ricardo Castro (LinkedIn). This is an independent, one-person project — not a bank, a financial advisory firm, or backed by a large publisher. I'm not going to claim credentials I don't have: think of this site as a well-built calculator with clearly-sourced reference information, not professional financial advice. For anything with real money on the line beyond a restaurant bill, talk to an actual accountant or financial advisor.
How We Keep This Accurate
The math (tip, tax, and split calculations) is straightforward arithmetic you can verify yourself — there's no black box. For reference information that can go stale, like sales tax rates by state, we link to the primary source in that page's content instead of just stating a number, so you can check it against the original data yourself. Pages that include this kind of reference data show a "last checked" note near the relevant section.

Why We Built This
We noticed that most tip calculators online had the same problems:
- Slow, clunky interfaces
- Too much text before you can actually use the calculator
- Not optimized for mobile devices
- Require constant internet connection
We set out to build something different — a calculator that puts the tool first and everything else second.
Our Philosophy
Speed over features. We'd rather have 5 features that work perfectly than 50 features that are slow and confusing.
Mobile-first, always. Most people use tip calculators on their phones at restaurants. We designed for that use case first.
Free for everyone. Financial tools shouldn't have paywalls. Our calculator is and always will be completely free.
Privacy-respecting. We don't collect your data. Your calculations stay on your device.
