Tip Calculator Fast ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website and mobile application.
Information We Collect
Personal Data
We do not collect your name, email address, or payment information. The calculator itself operates entirely in your browser and never sends your bill amounts or calculations anywhere.
Usage Data
Google Analytics collects anonymized-where-possible usage data to help us understand which pages are useful:
- Pages visited and time spent
- Approximate location (country/city level, from IP address)
- Device and browser type
- Referring website
This site serves a US audience, where first-party analytics does not require prior opt-in, so Analytics is on by default. It is turned off automatically for browsers that send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, and you can turn it off yourself at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer — see the Cookie Policy for exactly what's collected.
How We Use Your Information
Collected usage data is used solely to:
- Understand which pages and calculators people actually use
- Find and fix broken or confusing parts of the site
- Decide what to build next
We do not sell your data — there's no user database to sell from in the first place.
Cookies and Local Storage
Our website uses local storage (not a tracking cookie) to remember your dark mode
preference, your last-used tip percentage, your chosen state on the tax calculator, and
any analytics opt-out — this stays only on your device. Google Analytics, unless you've
opted out, sets its own cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish
returning visitors. We do not currently run advertising. See our full

Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Cloudflare Pages: For hosting our website
- Google Analytics: For usage analytics, on by default with an opt-out (footer "Cookie Preferences", or a Global Privacy Control signal) — see Google's Privacy Policy
Fonts (Inter, JetBrains Mono) are self-hosted on our own servers rather than loaded from a third party, so no font-related request is sent to Google or anyone else.
Offline Functionality
Our Progressive Web App (PWA) uses service workers to enable offline functionality. This allows the app to work without an internet connection by caching necessary files on your device.
Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your data.
Your Rights
You control whether Google Analytics runs at all. Turn it off with the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer, or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser and we disable it automatically — either way, no further usage data is collected about you. For data already sent to Google Analytics before you opted out, requests to access or delete it should go to Google directly per their privacy policy, since we don't retain or have direct access to a copy ourselves. California residents: we honor Global Privacy Control automatically, and we do not sell or share personal information.
Children's Privacy
Our service is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.
